Quote

"A women's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man should have to seek Him first to find her" I am not sure who wrote this so I can't give due credit, but I liked this quote and wanted to share it....enjoy!

Patch Girls Sleepover

On Friday night, Jennifer and I planned a sleepover with the girls in her class at her house, complete with a visit to M&T Nails for pedicures for everyone. Woohoo!

This was our entire group for the night except for Amy she joined us later at Jenn's house. From left to right: In front is Madison, Kailyn and Callie and In back is Ally, Chey and Nicole.

This is Kailyn....her and her family are new to our church! She is a sweetie!

Jenn smiling sweetly!

Jenn was really relaxing here and I'm not sure what Chey was doing!! lol

This is Jenn, Chey, Nicole, and Callie waiting for their toes to dry.

This is Ally waiting for her toes to dry.

The girls all had a really good time at the nail salon. None of them had gotten a pedicure before, so it was a treat for them. Afterwards we stopped by Little Caesar's for pizza and breadsticks and headed to Jennifers house to settle in for the night. The night went well.......all the girls got along really well and seemed happy to be together and fellowshipping with one another. They played games and watched a couple of DVD movies. Then.............. someone starting beating on the door and scratching on the window! All the girls were scared and screaming. Jennifer and I told them to calm down that it would be ok. Then from the kitchen appeared Johnathan with a loud roar! He came in the back door. The girls all laughed and took a sigh of relief! lol

It was about 4:15 am before all the girls finally fell asleep. Needless to say I was exhausted the next day, but had fun too!

Dinner Blessing

One of our oldest and dearest friends gave Mike and I a gift card to any of the Darden Restaurants, which includes Red Lobster, Olive Garden. (Yum O my fave), Longhorn Steakhouse, and Bahama Breeze (I know I've never heard of it either).

So Mike and I decided to go Thursday night and kinda make it a date night just for us. We dropped the girls off at Granny's house and headed to Olive Garden in Spartanburg. We had a great time together and hope to be able to do it more often. We didn't use all the money on the gift card, so maybe we will get another date night out of this wonderful gift. Thanks so much for the gift......you know who you are. Hehe!!!!!

During the last year, the Lord has been working on me and showing me that I needed to allow my husband to be my best friend and to tell him everything I am feeling and thinking. With the Lord's help I have been doing this a lot in the past six months or so and am really glad I allowed the Lord to work in me. As a result, we have grown closer together and Mike is even coming to Church with me now....and on a pretty regular basis. Hallelujah for that! Many of you know that Mike is not saved and doesn't profess to be. He is a very honest and straight forward person. The first step is salvation is to know you are lost and he does!! He is a good man and a good father to our girls. He just needs salvation, but I believe in my heart and have hope that the Lord is going to save him, but not in my time...in God's time. The Lord also helped me to realize that he isn't saved and I can't make him do the things I think he should be doing. Since I have backed off and allowed him to make more his own choices and not badgered him about various things, we have really grown a lot closer. I also have tried to be a submissive wife to him even though he isn't saved.

The Bible says in Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. The Bible also says in Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord..........and Mike is my husband and I will submit to his authority in our home.

I won't however do anything that is against the word of God and I don't think he would ask me to anyway. I was a little unsure about the issue of submission because Mike isn't saved, but a good friend helped give me some Godly advise and I want to say Thank You to her....she knows who she is.

Although women were not made to be the spiritual leader in the home, when your husband isn't saved you must be that leader in your home. I just want to be the Godly wife and example that the Lord would have me to be to my husband.

Well I said all that to say this.....spend alone time with your spouse as it is very important for your relationship. Just like you spend alone time with God in his word and when you do that you grow closer to him. We should do the same with our spouses. Invest your time in the Lord first then invest time in your spouses.
Mike and I have been married for 18 years and I looking forward to many more.

Have a blessed weekend!!! See ya'll Sunday.
