Sigma Rush Night

Sunday night was our annual Sigma Rush Night at church. The two teams decide on names and verses and then decorate their side of the fellowship building to match their name. One team was the Chi Alpha UFC "Ultimate Fighters for Christ" and the other team was the Alpha Teta Speed "Saved People Encouraging Everlasting Devotion". They are judged that night on their decorations and team spirit. The team sponsors for the UFC are Bruce & Kristi and the team sponsors for Speed are Chris & Dana. Taylor is on the UFC's team and I think they won! Go UFC!! Watch the video below and see what you think!

UFC's Verse

Taylor & Cassie

Here is a short video of each team showing their team spirit!!

They had a really good time cheering for their team. They will continue to compete against each others as a team and as individuals all year for points in the following areas: daily devotions, saying verses, bringing visitors, participating in other ministries in the church, christian service, attendance, and that's all I can think of right now. This is a wonderful ministry and we have wonderful team sponsors that encourage and uplift our teens as needed. Thanks Bruce, Kristi, Chris, & Dana for your hard work!! We love ya'll!

I am proud of all our teens and the stand for Christ that they have taken!!! Praise the Lord for so many young people wanting to service the Lord in everything they do!!!!

Enjoy you day!
God is good!!!

BHS Wildcat Band First Place

Congratulations!!!!!! BHS Wildcat Marching Band!!!!!!

The Blacksburg High School Marching Wildcat Band had a contest this Saturday at Chesnee High School at which they took FIRST place. To God be the Glory!! They received four other awards also. They were for Best Drum Major, Best Drum Line, Best Band Front(color guard) and Best Horn Line.

I am so proud of all of them but especially for Taylor, my daughter. She plays the flute and also had a special part in the program. Their theme this year is America's Past Time....Baseball of course. Near the end of the program Taylor and Jesus'(a boy in the band) put there instruments down and he picks up a ball and glove and she picks up a bat and play a pretend game of baseball. Sorry, I am a bad blogger and didn't have my camera.....but I will try to remember to take it to this Saturday's competition and take some pics or videos to share with yall. They will be headed to Upper State Competition this Saturday in Clinton, SC.

They have all worked very hard and we are hoping that they finish good at Upper State so they can go on to State. The band has a record of 4 time 1-A State Champs.
Have a great week!!
God Bless,
Kimberly

We're Back!

This is the garden where Mike and I got married 18 years ago on September 3, 1990 in Myrtle Beach, SC! The ceremony was performed by a notary public. The only people present were his mother and step-dad and some of their friends. It was a sweet private ceremony! The pictures that were taken of our wedding day didn't turn out! They were exposed to the light and ruined, but the memory is forever in our minds! We enjoyed visiting the site where we were joined together in holy matrimony. We walked around for awhile and just talked about the memories of that day. I am thankful the Lord has blessed our marriage for 18 years and I pray he continues to bless it. I hope you enjoy the pics!

Have a blessed week!

Off to the Beach!!!

I will be taking a bloggy break the rest of this week and weekend. Mike and I are headed to the beach for a much needed getaway. It will be just the two of us. We are staying at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center. We have never stayed there before, but the pics on the internet look really nice.

We will miss all the food, fun, and fellowship at church on Sunday. It's Homecoming this Sunday. I hope ya'll enjoy all the good food that is usually there. But, look for Taylor and Madison, they will be there with their Granny.

I hope you all have a good rest of the week and weekend!

I may have some pics to post of our trip when we get back!

Love In Christ,
Kimberly
